“Less than four months after graduating from the Polytechnic of Bjelovar, I started working at the Zagreb County Institute of Emergency Medicine. Today, I am proud to call myself a Bachelor of Nursing, equipped with competencies and knowledge that I continue to refine, all thanks to my time at the Polytechnic.

Studying at the Polytechnic was a wonderful journey that I will cherish for the rest of my life. At first, it seemed like a long road ahead, but it passed so quickly. The experience involved a lot of hard work, sacrifice, and practical training, but it also brought meaningful friendships. Now that I am working, I understand just how important knowledge is and often reflect on my teachers, who not only imparted skills but also introduced me to qualities that define a complete nurse—empathy, compassion, dedication, and sincerity.

I am deeply grateful to the Dean, Vice-Deans, and all the professors for their patience, guidance, and knowledge. A heartfelt thank you also goes to others who supported us along the way—librarian Mirjana, staff in the student affairs office, Anita and Vesna, secretary Zdravka, and Renata in the finance department—for their kindness, patience, and answers to our many questions and follow-ups.

Finally, my thanks go to the practice dolls in our Practicum, which helped us train and prepare for real hospital work.”
