Office for Students with Disabilities

Persons with disabilities represent one of the most vulnerable social groups, facing serious obstacles at all levels of education. To support students with disabilities and ensure that both current and future students have the necessary conditions for successful and high-quality studies, the Office for Students with Disabilities was established at Bjelovar University of Applied Sciences.

The Office for Students with Disabilities serves as a link between students with disabilities and the teaching and administrative staff of Bjelovar University of Applied Sciences. Members of the Office for Students with Disabilities include:

  • Josip Rajković, LL.M.
  • Goranka Rafaj, Senior Lecturer
  • Tomislav Adamović, Senior Lecturer
  • Goran Benkek, Lecturer
  • Associate Professor Zrinka Puharić, PhD, College professor
  • Zdravka Bilić, Master of Public Administration
  • Anita Lončar, Master of Public Administration

The activities of the Office for Students with Disabilities aim to provide equal opportunities for all students who, due to illness, impairment, or disorder, experience permanent, temporary, or occasional difficulties in fulfilling their daily academic responsibilities. These activities address:

  • Visual impairments
  • Hearing impairments
  • Deafblindness
  • Speech and voice communication impairments
  • Musculoskeletal system impairments
  • Central nervous system impairments
  • Peripheral nervous system impairments
  • Impairments of other organs and organ systems, chromosomal abnormalities, congenital anomalies, and rare diseases
  • Intellectual disabilities
  • Autism spectrum disorders
  • Mental health impairments
  • Other health conditions or difficulties that may affect the course of studies (such as learning difficulties, including dyslexia, dysgraphia, and ADHD).

By classifying these students as students with disabilities, Bjelovar University of Applied Sciences does not intend to stigmatize or label them but rather to highlight the need to adapt academic content to their abilities.

Students with disabilities who wish to exercise certain rights related to their studies at Bjelovar University of Applied Sciences must register (with appropriate medical documentation) by contacting the respective study program coordinators via email:
