Erasmus Mobility in Antalya

By Erasmus - Iskustva s mobilnosti, News

The Dean of the University, Zrinka Puharić, and lecturer Goranka Rafaj visited Antalya, Turkey, from May 23 to May 27, 2022, at Akdeniz University. During their visit, they discussed future collaboration with the Dean and Erasmus Coordinator. They also visited the clinical hospital where students carry out their internships. Special thanks to our incoming students, Hilalgamze and Aysegul, for their warm welcome.

International Nurses Day

By News, News Nursing

International Nurses Day (IND) is an international day observed around the world on 12 May (the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth) each year, to mark the contributions that nurses make to society.

Our students and teachers of Nursing marked the International Nurses Day on Bjelovar’s Square Korzo by measuring people’s blood pressure, blood sugar levels and advising on life habits.

Happy International Nurses Day 2022!

The donation from Schneider Electric.

By News

The Department of Mechatronics has been presented with a donation of automation equipment from Schneider Electric worth 64,713.33 HRK. On behalf of Schneider Electric, the equipment was handed over by Tomislav Ščrbak, Sales Director of the Industry and Integrators sector. The donated equipment includes a powerful PLC Modicon M262, ATV630 frequency converter, Lexium 32 servo system, servo motor, power supplies, Ethernet modules, and software licenses for augmented reality and PLC programming. We thank Schneider Electric for the fourth consecutive donation of equipment that will enhance our laboratories. This donation is the result of a long-standing successful collaboration between Schneider Electric and Bjelovar University of Applied Sciences, and during today’s meeting, a plan for expanding this cooperation was agreed upon.

General information – Mechatronics

By Professional Study Programme in Mechatronics

Name of studies:: Mechatronics

Proponent and implementer of studies: Bjelovar University of Applied Sciences

Type of studies: Professional programme of study

Level of studies:  Undergraduate professional programme of study

Duration of studies: 3 years (VI semesters)

Overall number of ECTS credits: 180

Professional title acquired upon the completion of studies: Bachelor (baccalaureus / baccalaurea) of Mechatronics

Competences:  The Professional Programme of Study in Mechatronics trains students for independent work in a variety of professions that require the knowledge of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and information technologies. Having completed this professional programme of study, students will acquire knowledge, skills and competences that will provide them with the possibility to find employment in a broad segment of the labour market.

General learning outcomes:

  • apply mathematical and physical principles to engineering problems
  • use a foreign language in professional literature, as well as in everyday and professional communication
  • apply the principles of business communication in profession-related contexts: identify clients’ needs, present information, ideas, problems and solutions to experts and non-experts
  • acquire new knowledge, skills, competences and responsibilities
  • adapt to work in project teams
  • identify, model and solve engineering problems
  • adjust engineering activities to the needs of product and service users
  • be flexible and adaptable in working out technical solutions, observing the basic ethical principles, legal norms and professional rules
  • use the techniques, skills and contemporary tools necessary in engineering practice
  • critically assess facts, concepts, procedures, principles and theories in the field of mechatronics

Specific (professional) learning outcomes:

  • identify and propose adequate types of material and machining procedures in constructing mechatronic systems
  • dimension and select standardised elements of precision mechanics, machine elements and assemblies in the process of constructing various mechanisms
  • construct machine elements, assemblies and mechanisms observing the laws of strength and deformation, kinematics and dynamics
  • manage devices, assemblies, mechanisms and machines in the process of transport of solid materials and in the process of distribution of gas and liquid media
  • be familiar with the working principles of electronic and electromechanic converters
  • analyse the behaviour of mechatronic systems by modelling and simulation
  • design electronic devices with microcomputers and produce programming solutions for microcomputers
  • create 2D technical documentation and construct a 3D model of mechatronic systems
  • calculate regulator parameters for the regulation of various technical processes
  • design and apply hydraulic and pneumatic systems in mechatronics
  • programme programmable logic controllers using current platforms and programming languages
