As part of the *Technical English 4* course 📖, a guest lecture 👩🏫 was held by Ms. Lucija Večerić, a career advisor from CISOK Bjelovar, covering the topics *”Europass CV and Job Application in English”* 📝 and *”How to Prepare Well for a Job Interview in English”* 🎤.
During the lecture, students 🎓 had the opportunity to learn through practical examples how to create a good CV 📄 and job application ✍️ in English, as well as how to prepare for a job interview 💼 in English.
On March 12, 2025 📅, at Bjelovar University of Applied Sciences 🎓, as part of the course *Adult Health Care II* 🏥, guest lecturer and our alumni student Josip Kirdžija, **BSc in Nursing** 👨⚕️, delivered a lecture on the topic *”Laparoscopic Hemicolectomy – Experiences from Sweden”* 🇸🇪.
Josip introduced students to modern approaches to minimally invasive procedures 🔬 in the surgical treatment of colorectal diseases, with a focus on laparoscopic hemicolectomy 🏨. During his presentation, he shared his experiences from a Swedish hospital 🏩 where he is employed, working in the colorectal surgery department 🩺.
The lecture concluded with a discussion 💬, where students asked questions ❓ about the practical application of Swedish guidelines 📑 in Croatian healthcare settings, as well as opportunities for further education 🎓 and specialization in the field of laparoscopic surgery.

Today, the University 🎓 hosted a Zoom meeting 💻 of the project implementation team for “Independent Learning Strategies in a Digital Environment.” In the third year of project implementation, Bjelovar University of Applied Sciences is the coordinator 🔄 of activities, with partners 📍 Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski from Bulgaria and Instituto Superior de Administração e Línguas (ISAL) from Madeira, Portugal.
Moderator 🎤 Marina Marković opened the meeting and invited Reneta Bojankova, Vice-Rector of Sofia University, Sancha de Campanella, Deputy Director of ISAL, and our Dean, Tatjana Badrov, to greet the project participants 👋.
Among the eight lecturers 👨🏫👩🏫 working on the project are Tomislav Adamović, Head of the Professional Undergraduate Study Program in Computer Science, and Ivan Sekovanić, Computer Science lecturer.

Bjelovar University of Applied Sciences 🎓 hosted the session 🏛️ of the Council of University of Applied Science Students of the Republic of Croatia today. Following a warm welcome 🤝 by the president of the BUAS Student Council, Ivan Ćuk, the students were addressed by the president of the Council of Polytechnics of Croatia 🗣️ and the dean of the Lavoslav Ružička Polytechnic in Vukovar, Željko Sudarić 📜, as well as the dean of BUAS, Tatjana Badrov 👩🎓. They then toured our university 🏫 and discussed current topics 📢 in higher education 📖 and opportunities for collaboration 🤝.

Yesterday, we held a meetup lecture on the topic “DIY Smart Home” 🏠💡. This highly inspiring and interesting lecture was delivered by Dubravko Martinić, consultant and founder of Bilo Consulting 👨💻🏢. Dubravko presented how he made his home smart 🏡🤖.
Participants had the opportunity to see the technologies used ⚙️🔌 and how various smart home systems work, including lighting 💡, blinds 🏠🪟, heating 🔥, cooling ❄️, TV control 📺, video surveillance 🎥, garage doors 🚪, and more.
